Product Overview

Ultimate Graphics Power, Unleashed.

In 2007, ASUS introduced XG Station, an external graphics solution that let laptops achieve cutting-edge gaming performance by tapping into potent desktop graphics cards. Continuing this trend of innovation, the all-new ROG XG Station 2 is a plug-and-play external graphics card dock that turns a Thunderbolt™ 3-enabled notebook or 2-in-1 PC into a VR-ready gaming powerhouse.

Enjoy VR Gaming and Portability

Inserting a graphics card into ROG XG Station 2 is easy, and you can quickly connect to your Thunderbolt™ 3-enabled notebook or 2-in-1 PC* to create a powerful, VR-ready gaming machine. Experience an incredible new level of gaming performance without sacrificing your notebook's portability.

Upgraded Gaming Performance

With ROG XG Station 2, you can enjoy upgraded gaming performance that's even better than dedicated gaming laptops and many desktop PCs.

The Speed You Need

Thunderbolt™ 3 transfers data up to 8X faster than USB 3.0 and offers 4X the video bandwidth of HDMI 1.4. It also supplies power to your devices, so you can enjoy desktop-grade performance with demanding tasks like gaming and 4K video editing. Learn more about Thunderbolt™ 3 here.

Present Perfect. Future Ready.

Easily upgrade to the best gaming performance with current and upcoming NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 9/10 series and AMD Radeon™ R9/RX series graphics cards. ROG XG Station 2 supports full-length desktop graphics cards* with coolers up to 2.5 slots wide, letting you choose from a broad range of options to suit your needs.

Plug and Play

ROG XG Station 2 can be connected or disconnected from your notebook or 2-in-1 PC without restarting. It provides 4 USB 3.0 ports and 1 Gigabit Ethernet port for simultaneous keyboard, mouse, VR headset, monitor, and internet connectivity. When connected with both a Thunderbolt™ 3 and USB Type-B cable, ROG XG Station 2 uses an additional USB signal channel to deliver 2X faster random read speeds and 1.8X faster write speeds than with a Thunderbolt™ 3 connection alone. (Benchmarked with the CrystalDiskMark 5.2.0 4KB Q32T1 test.)

Powerful Yet Efficient

The internal power supply provides up to 500W to a high-performance graphics card and up to 100W to your notebook or 2-in-1 PC via Thunderbolt™ 3, eliminating the need for a separate power cable to help keep your system tidy. With 80 Plus Gold certification, ROG XG Station 2's power supply is up to 90% energy efficient, reducing electricity use and operating costs.

Outshine The Competition

Express your own unique style with the millions of colors and 5 different effects offered by ASUS Aura RGB lighting. When paired with an Aura-enabled ROG Strix gaming graphics card, ASUS Aura Sync technology perfectly synchronizes lighting for a system that really shines.

Glowing with Power

Check out the all-new Plasma Tube adorning the front of ROG XG Station 2. Its ROG-inspired glow crackles with electricity, providing a stylish hint at the formidable gaming horsepower within.
